This US made dipole antenna has a boom arm for mounting on the side of a
tower. The mounting bracket will mount onto poles up to 1.5 inches.
More than one antenna can be used to in a multi bay system to boost up the
gain. A single bay system will provide a 2.15 dbi gain. This is the
relative gain with respect to a 0 dbi gain isotropic antenna. Each 3 db
gain will effectively double your radiated power. With 2 bays you will get
5.15 dbi gain and with 4 bays 8.15 dbi gain. If you really want to get out
with a 8 bay system the gain would be 11.15 dbi. This is over 10 times the
effective radiated power!
The antenna comes complete with an assembly manual and tune-up
instructions. I would highly recommend using a SWR / power meter to aid in
the set up so maximum performance is achieved. We now have some very
accuate Diawa meters that will cover 1.5 MHz to 150 MHz for only $149! I
have personally tested quite a few low cost SWR / power meters, and have not
found any even close to the accuracy of this meter in this price range.
This antenna has
approximately 1.5 MHz bandwidth and uses a standard female
"S0-239" connector.
